Johnnie Walker Black Label’s iconic square bottle makes it one of the world’s most recognisable Scotch whiskies and it’s also one of whisky critic Jim Murray’s favourite blends. The bottling strength of this whisky is 40% which is at the lower end of the scale for whiskies. Although these days many consumers are pushing for producers to bottle closer to 43% or 46% there are still some fine lower strength whiskies.
