Lem Motlow, the nephew of Jack Daniel, was usual client of the Hotel Maxwell House, property of a colonel confederado, called John Overton. Mr. Lem Found this place like the perfect place for Jack Daniel, the whisky distilled by his uncle in the mountains of Tennessee. His product was very good, already had won the medal of gold in the World-wide Fair of 1904 in St. Louis.

For promocionarse, Lem realised a special bottle, filled it of Jack Daniel and sent it to the colonel Overton together with a note requesting an interview. Impressed, Overton did a request of 200 boxes of whisky Jack Daniel and asked him that the special bottle sold in the bar of the House of Maxwell.

Been due to so much the popularity of the hotel like the fame of Jack Daniel grew in parallel. The special bottle for the hotel carries his name “bottle Maxwell House.”
